In September of 2011 the Owego-Apalachin School District in Owego, NY was seriously impacted by flooding from the Susquehanna River as a result of Tropical Storm Lee. Water levels in the Elementary School building reached well over a foot deep causing serious damage to the school infrastructure as well as the athletic complex.
Griffiths was on the scene to address repairs to the District athletic facilities which were an important asset to the District and the entire community. Designed repairs included work to the damage football stadium to allow the community to utilize the field by seasons end, repairs to the existing baseball field, soccer and softball fields
